Recap: Using Casted Search vs. Casted Themes

Speaker 1: One of the many benefits of Casted is being able to easily amplify your content over and over again. When we say amplify, that doesn't mean sharing once or twice and then moving along, it means continually going back to that content and finding new creative ways to put it out there in the world so you get the most mileage possible out of it. And we have tools that help your efforts in repurposing. One of those tools is Casted Search. You may have noticed the search option at the very top of the Casted platform. This is much more than just your standard search function. In the spirit of repurposing, let's search for repurpose. As I've typed in the word repurpose, you can see that I have results that not only include the actual title of the episode, but also includes any time that the word repurpose was used within the transcript or any descriptions. So I can truly see all of the times the word repurpose was mentioned within my content. And to the right, you can see that I can use filters to really boil down to exactly what I need in order to strategically repurpose this content. If I clear out my keyword search, you can see all the filters available to you, so I can indicate the type of collection that I want my content to come from, any tags that I've associated with the clip or item, the type of content I need. So if I only want to search clips, I can indicate that here. I can search by item date, so I can make sure that the content's relevant and only published within the last year, month, or week. And I can also indicate if it's a clip, whether or not it's a key takeaway that's displayed on the episode page or a clip that has an audiogram associated with it, so I can quickly grab it, repurpose it, and post it. Again, what makes Casted Search so powerful is that when you search by keywords, you're not only searching your title or even your description, but also your transcript. So even if a word is mentioned within the conversation but isn't clearly notated in the description or title, it will still pop up in your search so you can truly see the content that's relevant to the keyword that you're searching for. Once I know exactly what kind of content piece I want to repurpose, I can click on that here and it'll take me straight to my episode page so I can go in, grab it, and move along. Another way to easily find and repurpose content within Casted is by using themes. Themes is not available for all customers. So if you're interested in learning more about themes, reach out to your customer success manager or our support team at support @ casted. us. For those that have themes, you can access it by going to your strategy tab and clicking themes. To add a new theme, click the new button up here on the right. And first you'll want to name your theme. So let's say that we're creating a theme about repurposing, and once I've named my theme, I'm going to start entering keywords that relate to that theme. We've chosen, repurpose, repurposing, ring, back catalog, and amplify. You want to make sure to hit enter every time you add a keyword, and you will want to add three words minimum and 100 maximum. Once we finish setting up your theme, Casted is going to go through and look at all of your titles, all of your descriptions, and all of your transcripts to look for these specific keywords. Every time a keyword is found, that's going to be one match within that piece of content. So if you have the word repurpose mentioned six times within a single piece of content, that will show six matches. Your match threshold is really there to filter out any content that maybe isn't as relevant as what you're looking for, so think content with maybe one or two matches. As a best practice, we recommend keeping your match threshold at one to start with and then adjusting it if you need to once all of your results come back, and that's what we're going to do here. Making your status a priority theme is really just going to separate it visually in Casted from the rest of your themes. We're going to keep it set as a priority theme. Your theme color really only visually impacts Casted. Once you're done, you'll click save theme and podcast will start processing. Now you can see that my theme has been added. It's present up here with the other priority themes and any non- priority themes are indicated below. It can take several minutes for your content to be analyzed, so be patient. Once it's ready, go back in to view theme. Here you can see all of your results in order of relevancy. So you can see that out of all of our content, 50% of it is video and the other 50% is audio. You can also see that we have a handful of matches over here. I've increased my match threshold to three to get rid of some of the least relevant content. And then if you look at the content itself, you can see that this particular episode is the most relevant piece of content for repurposing, and of course, it's called How to Repurpose Content Like the Pros. As mentioned before, a match is the keyword being found within that piece of content. If you click on the I next to matches, you can get a breakdown of how your keywords matched up in this particular piece of content. To grab content to repurpose, you can click go to content page, click on the studio and click the paintbrush to select your theme. I'm going to select repurposing, and I can quickly skip by clicking view and transcript to every moment that a keyword is mentioned that matches my theme. This allows me to easily clip or grab existing clips to then repurpose into audiograms, videograms, embeds, you name it, to then post in various areas to drive engagement. The other cool thing about themes is that you can actually view metrics per theme. So you can not only see how all of the content that is associated with the repurposing theme is performing, but you can also use it to benchmark it against other themes. So I could see how my repurposing theme is performing against my social networking theme. So just to recap, there are a couple different ways that you can easily find and repurpose your content within Casted. The first is Casted Search, which is available to all customers, and that is accessible up here in your search bar. Again, this will search your titles, transcripts, and descriptions, and will give you as many results as it can find for that particular keyword. And this is great for more reactive measures, if you need to find something quickly. Themes is only available for select customers and is more of a proactive measure you can take. You can take the themes that you're most focused on for that particular period of time and use them to bubble up all of the relevant content so you can quickly grab it and go.
