Don't Just Get the Big Names... BE the Big Name | Hot Take with Kate DeGroot
Kate: Hi, I'm Kate, Director of Demand Gen at Casted. I just wanted to hop on here and give you one of my hot takes on growth. We are always thinking about growth here at Casted, for us, for our customers, and how do we actually help everyone achieve their goals? So I always see people reaching out to get big names on their podcasts, and that is something we do as well. But wouldn't it be better if we got on some of those big name shows? We go from leveraging the social media networks of the podcast show and podcast host, to being on the show, where all of those listeners gather. So going from less than 90% of your ICP seeing your messaging, hearing about your product or your ideas, to going to so many more. What I do know is that a very high and growing number of people are listening to podcasts, and that means that your ICP is in there. And because of that, you want to be on those shows. So I'm here to tell you today that it is 100% okay to go out there and ask to be on those shows. Talk to your target, find out what podcasts they're listening to, and go try to get on those podcasts. It is the biggest growth driver that I can think of right now. If you have a B2B podcast, I can think of no better way to increase your listenership, get in front of your ICP, and grow your own audience, then grow your brand, and then start getting leads off of those same listeners. A podcast is the best, I would say, top of funnel and mid- funnel option that there is. It warms your target so well, it helps you position your brand. I'm so excited about podcasting for brands, so I guess it's a good thing that I work for Casted. Go try this. See what happens. Let me know what the outcomes are.
