The human side of generative AI and HR

David Levy is a Technology Engineer at IBM’s Client Engineering, specializing in solving complex business problems through iterative software development. With three years at IBM, David combines his love for solving puzzles with creativity in his work. Passionate about new technology, he is dedicated to sharing his knowledge through tutorials and projects.

Jon’s responsibilities include end-to-end HR ownership for GenAI, Cloud, Workforce Science, AI and Automation technologies as well as the Digital HR vision and strategy for IBM. Jon has taken the lead in deploying WatsonX to HR, and partners closely with research, product, consulting and the CIO in finding innovative ways to deliver ‘delightful’ experiences and productivity to the IBMer workforce. In creating a first-of-a-kind ‘Digital Labour’ he has enabled HR employees to move to higher-value work, and more recently has led his team in creating solutions for GenAI/LLMs in HR.Jon is also a thought leader in how automation and AI will transform the Future of Work. He co-authored a recently released book 'Human-friendly automation: Rethinking work and artificial intelligence’, as well as contributing articles to magazines/newspapers such as Unleash (‘Generative AI: How to augment the workplace’), HR World, Technology Magazine, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and IBM Think.  Jon is a regular speaker at conferences (European Employment and Social Rights Forum in Brussels) and was part of a recent podcast: “Putting Generative AI to Use in the Real World”. He is also a guest lecturer at the Lancaster University Management School.
