James Rands

James Rands joined Janes in 2018 after a career as an infantry officer in the British Army. He served in Kosovo, Macedonia, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan. He has served on attachment with the USMC and the Netherlands Airborne Brigade. For much of his career he worked in intelligence. James joined Janes as the C4ISR manager but recently moved to country intelligence where he is the senior military capabilities analyst. James holds a bachelor degree in War Studies from King’s College London and masters in Philosophy from the Open University. He continues to serve as a reservist.
