Belinda Román, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Economics at St. Mary’s University. Her research includes collaborative work with the Brookings Institute-Global Cities Initiative and impact studies for the SABÉR Research Institute, an economic development think tank dedicated to researching regional economies and their development, with a focus on assisting the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Recently, the Wall Street Journal tabbed her as the most accurate predictor of key economic figures in an annual competition of economic forecasters.
